Over the years Oklahoma has produced some decent metal bands, and five-year-old Monument is no exception. This demo, recorded a couple of years ago has stayed in my player for a week straight. It rocks!
"Acception Denied" and "Chain of Aggression" are fury filled rockers in the vein of the heaviest Fates Warning. "Steal Away" and "Fall From Grace" are classic melodic ballads you won't be able to get out of your head. But the raunchiest cruncher by far is epic masterpiece, "Quintessence of Dust", sure to lead to cerebral hemorrhage with it's slow driving groove.
The band is made up of Chad Callaway(bass), Kevin Courtney(drums),Sean Kelly(guitar), Parker Brown(guitar), and Jim Davis(vocals)-since replaced by Kirk Callaway. If Monument happens to grace Dallas' stages, you won't go wrong by checking them out.
